Appian offers native redaction capabilities as do many other third parties. Appian's Redaction Component (DRC) utility allows users to redact documents by uploading them, entering redaction terms, and waiting for an RPA robot to complete the redaction.

Apryse WebViewer also supports the redaction of sensitive data in Appian. Users can redact documents securely within the Appian platform without any third-party servers. Fast and true redaction of PDF, MS Office, and image files are performed right in the user’s browser.

Redacting a document will remove the visual information on the document as well as any underlying metadata or text string/data embedded into your document. Once redaction is completed and the document is saved, you are unable to undo this process according to ISO standard.
