With the recent acquisitions of Scanbot SDK and Accusoft, we’ve welcomed a wave of talented new team members to Apryse. As part of our ongoing spotlight series, we’re excited to introduce you to Niklas Kreck, Head of Growth, who joins us from the Scanbot SDK team.
Niklas brings a unique perspective shaped by hands-on experience, strategic insight, and a passion for driving measurable growth. Read on to learn more about his journey and what excites him most about the road ahead at Apryse.
It's incredibly exciting to work for a company that tackles the entire lifecycle of documents—from scanning to creation to complex modifications. It’s a field where real-world problems meet cutting-edge technology.
But even more than that, it’s the people. Apryse brings together smart minds from around the world, with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. I really like Apryse’s approach to growth through internal innovation and acquisition which allows me to envision an exciting future
Growth Marketing is where strategy meets experimentation. I love that you can have a massive impact on a company’s future – and on the people behind it. When you increase revenue, you're not just improving numbers, you're enabling new hires, funding research and development, and fueling company momentum, which ultimately leads to innovation.
Also: It never gets boring. Growth can come from anywhere – a new content strategy, a product-led motion, technical SEO, a Reddit thread, a landing page experiment, or new technological developments like LLMs. That variety is what makes it so exciting for me.
Starting as an intern at Scanbot SDK and growing into the Head of Growth role was a journey full of learning, late nights, and lots of mistakes, but also great progress. I'm proud to have played a part in scaling the inbound engine to a level that helped make us an attractive acquisition for Apryse.
Without a doubt: the acquisition by Apryse. It was more than just a business milestone - it was proof that the strategy, execution, and persistence we brought to the table created long-term value.
That moment made me reflect on all the experiments that didn’t work, the campaigns that flopped, the SEO updates that tanked traffic before they fixed it – and how they all added up to something great.
Fail fast and often – seriously. 95% of the things you try won’t work. That’s not a flaw, that’s the process. The key is to learn quickly and avoid repeating the same mistakes. Because the 5% that do work have a tremendous impact on the business.
Also, never get too attached to your own ideas. Challenge what you’ve done in the past – growth doesn’t leave room for ego. You have to be brutally honest with what’s working and what’s not.
And finally: always talk to your users, prospects, and customers. Their perception of your product or website is often completely different from your intention. The earlier you uncover that gap, the faster you can close it and move forward.
Niklas’ journey is a reminder that growth doesn’t happen by accident. It is the result of curiosity, experimentation and continuous learning.
