What made you want to start a career at Apryse?

I spent several years as an Account Manager at my previous company and enjoyed the role, but I was ready for a new challenge. When I was approached to join Apryse as an Enterprise Account Manager, the opportunity stood out. Although my background is in SaaS, the document processing and SDK space was relatively unfamiliar territory. Rather than deter me, that unfamiliarity sparked genuine curiosity, the more I researched, the more compelling the opportunity became.

Ultimately, I was convinced after meeting my now VP of Sales, Simon, who shared Apryse’s ethos as a fast paced, ever evolving environment where employees are trusted to leverage their knowledge and creativity to deliver exceptional client outcomes. This aligned perfectly with the way I prefer to work.

How did you end up working in Sales? What do you like most about it?

Unlike many young people who aspired to have careers in medicine or law, I realized early on that sales aligned best with my future ambitions. Growing up with entrepreneurial parents who championed the benefits of self-employment, I came to see sales as the perfect balance between the unpredictability of running your own business and the stability of a traditional 9 to 5. In my view, a career in sales is the most entrepreneurial 9 to 5 you can have. It gives you the opportunity to architect your own success, influence your trajectory, and operate with a degree of autonomy that mirrors running a business. I truly enjoy the flexibility.

I’ve been with Apryse for 11 months and I’m proud to have already earned a place in President’s Club. Excellence in my career is a key driver of mine, and one of my primary goals upon joining was to surpass my annual quota as early as possible, although this doesn't happen in isolation, I’m equally proud of the strong cross functional collaboration across teams at Apryse, which enables us to solve customer challenges while building long term strategic partnerships with our clients.

What has surprised you most about working for Apryse?

How fast paced it is here. I find myself consistently confronted with new challenges to surmount daily. There’s always something new to learn as the company continues to evolve, whether that’s through acquisitions, product innovation, or scaling our global teams. Every day presents a new challenge or learning opportunity. It’s genuinely dynamic here, and no two days ever feel the same. The pace keeps me on my toes.

What is your favorite memory so far working for Apryse?

Two standout memories come to mind. The first was our last SKO in Texas, I had only been with the company for a few days at that point and was meeting almost everyone for the first time. I vividly remember how warmly I was welcomed and how quickly I felt part of the team. The second was a team trip to Slovenia, where we went white water rafting. Although I was initially intimidated by the prospect, the experience was filled with incredible camaraderie and team bonding.

What advice would you give to someone looking to start a career in Sales?

Buckle up! In all honesty, this is a highly rewarding career path, especially for those who are naturally goal oriented and thrive on the thrill of the chase. The highs are exhilarating, and the lows can be challenging, but there’s a method to the madness. If you can master sales methodology (Harvard Sales Coach Sarah speaking) and enjoy building genuine rapport, you’ll likely excel. Of course, working with the right team and selling the right product are critical factors, so be intentional and vigilant when choosing where to work.

What excites you most about the future of Apryse or your department?

Ironically, although the company was founded a couple of decades ago, we’ve been operating with a start up like mindset since rebranding to Apryse, I’ve seen material change happen at pace over the last year.

What excites me most is seeing employee and customer feedback actualize over time. It’s empowering to work at a company where your ideas are heard and valued, and I look forward to witnessing the progress we’ll achieve together in the years ahead.
