As accessibility requirements continue to grow in importance, especially with the enforcement of regulations such as the European Accessibility Act (EAA) beginning in 2025 and WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines, developers face growing pressure to ensure compliance. This release enables organizations to expand their audience while reducing the risk of non-compliance, tech debt, and lost business.

Ensuring that PDFs meet accessibility standards can be a massive undertaking. Our auto-tagging feature within Server SDK now simplifies this process by automatically adding accessibility tags to documents, without the need for report generation or reformatting. This solution is perfect for managing large volumes of legacy and future documents, meeting the needs of organizations that prioritize bother performance and accessibility.

Our latest acquisition of LEADTOOLS has allowed us to significantly enhance our IDP offerings. V11 integrates the LEADTOOLS high-performing OCR engine, boosting text recognition accuracy by 20%, while introducing powerful new Barcode SDK libraries that give developers expanded data extraction tools.

Barcode SDK Libraries Now Available

With over one billion products globally depending on barcodes for identification across industries like retail, logistics, and healthcare, the new cross-platform, highly customizable Barcode SDK libraries empower developers to easily decode, generate, and extract data from more than 100 barcode types.

Whether it's scanning barcodes in warehouses or processing financial documents with precision, our expanded IDP suite equips developers to build the next generation of data-driven applications, extracting critical information from structured, semi-structured, and unstructured documents with unmatched accuracy and reliability.

A Faster and More Accurate OCR Experience

Optical Character Recognition (OCR), the act of converting scanned or digital documents into machine-readable formats is a well-established technology that continues to evolve, becoming increasingly precise and efficient. Despite its long history, OCR remains crucial to this day for business processes as long as paper-based information persists. Our latest update significantly enhances both extraction accuracy and processing speed, setting a new standard at Apryse.

Simplified Form Creation for Digital Signatures

Traditionally, users of digital signatures needed to create form fields as placeholder annotations and then apply them to make them interactive, with any edits requiring deletion and recreation of the fields. With the latest improvements to Form Builder, users can directly place and edit interactive widget annotations, eliminating extra steps. Additionally, this update offers UI improvements, modern style options, a properties panel, and an index panel for a better experience that provides:

  • Simplified form creation with a one-step process
  • Real-time editing of form fields after they’re placed, without needing to recreate them
  • Enhanced styling options and new form management panels

Automation of Appian Processes with Smart Services

Apryse Smart Services provide a low-code solution to enhance Appian's Robotic Process Automation (RPA) functionality. These services integrate seamlessly into the Appian environment, reducing development time and simplifying complex document processes. Developers can quickly implement custom solutions for document processing by simply dragging and dropping the desired tasks into the process model.

No additional servers are required, and setup is as simple as adding an Apryse Server SDK license under Third-Party Credentials. These pre-built services allow for a smoother, faster development process so teams can maximize the impact of their work while minimizing manual, administrative work for their end users.

Stay tuned for even more great additions to the Apryse Developer Suite in 2025.
