Summary: In 2025, the Apryse team carried out a vision defined by continuous product evolution and strategic expansion. As this year comes to an end, we’re proud to celebrate the exciting innovations our incredible team at Apryse has delivered to help developers create even better document processing experiences.

Our Year in Review

The year began with a sharp focus on bringing higher levels of control and automation to core document workflows.

We continued our strong focus on Smart Data Extraction in 2025 and added many great features and advancements to our products and solutions.

Smart Data Extraction handles layout, structure, labeling, and output to power search, model training, and automation workflows. It recognizes structure such as key-value pairs, tables, layout in complex documents and delivers machine-readable outputs like JSON, XML, and Excel.

Building on the groundwork of the Winter release, the Spring 2025 launch on April 16th dramatically expanded the scope of our SDKs by introducing a new support for a powerful document type and critical internationalization features.

Spring was also a time for growth. The Apryse family grew through the strategic acquisition of TallComponents which strengthened our .NET PDF SDK.

By integrating these technologies, we solidified our position as the most comprehensive document processing solution available.

The Summer 2025 release was our biggest of the year, focusing on meaningful developer and performance improvements. This release made our SDKs, especially WebViewer, a must-have for advanced in-app editing capabilities. Again, Apryse saw a period of growth with the acquisitions of Accusoft, and Scanbot SDK.

  • Accusoft brings major innovations for imaging and forms.
  • Scanbot SDK is adding mobile scanning to our data capture offerings.

The Fall 2025 Release this October brought this year’s roadmap to a close, with the goal of cutting manual work and helping software developers address global markets.

We finished 2025 with exclusive data on enterprise AI maturity and document infrastructure trends in our report: AI Readiness 2025: Benchmarking Infrastructure, Strategy, and Scale. Learn how organizations are preparing their document infrastructure to support AI adoption at scale.

Now, let’s take a look at the updates and additions!

XLIFF Reflow solved a major challenge for multilingual content by preserving document integrity with precise reflow of translated text in PDFs. This minimizes manual formatting adjustments.

Scalable and automated search-and-replace functionality for PDFs allows consistent changes to be applied at scale without compromising design.

Key-Value Pair Extraction expanded the capabilities of our Smart Data Extraction add-on. It automatically detects and extracts crucial data from unstructured documents.

Document Classification streamlines document intake workflows with intelligent recognition and sorting of 19 document types, helping to automate tasks.

CAD Title Block Extraction helps keep engineering software organized by automatically pulling useful data from technical drawing title blocks to JSON format.

Spreadsheet Viewing provides a familiar, Excel-like experience to browse multiple sheets within the same application, complete with a WCAG compliant UI.

Full Spreadsheet Editing and Expanded DOCX Editing and Layout Controls bring sophisticated formatting, styling, and cell-level control into a single, browser-based experience, allowing users to work securely in-browser.

Undo/Redo for DOCX Editing enhances revision control for smoother document edits.

A significant boost to accessibility, with WCAG 2.2 level AA compliant UI across PDF, DOCX, and spreadsheet experiences, continuing our position as a market leader in accessibility.

Intuitive Right-to-Left Language Support was introduced in WebViewer for languages like Urdu, Arabic, Hebrew, and Persian, ensuring that features like text selection, menus, and highlighting display in the correct orientation. This feature makes it easier to build applications that work seamlessly across global regions.

Search and replace was expanded for DOCX and spreadsheets, supporting both UI and programmatic search, including regex.
