PDFTron was pleased to present at the PDF Association's Electronic Document Conference in Seattle, WA, where I compared the use of PDF vs. MS Office in today's document workflows. We covered the full document lifecycle -- creating, editing, viewing, sharing, and archiving -- and concluded with two sample scenarios that get the best out of both formats.

We also took an in-depth look into the challenges inherent in translating from Office to PDF. Some of these challenges are fundamental -- Office files are reflowable, whereas PDF is not -- and some of them are about discovering how many implicit and competing unit systems can be fit into one file format.
