At Apryse, our culture thrives on innovation, collaboration, and a shared passion for creating solutions that we are proud of.
We believe that our people are our greatest asset, so we are excited to spotlight one of the many teammates who have chosen an Apryse career and contributed to our success. Meet Conrad, Product Marketing Manager, whose career goals were realized after starting at Apryse.
Apryse (then PDFTron) had a great reputation in Vancouver as an employer. As someone with previous experience working in the PDF space and as a hobby coder, it was a seamless fit and a great place to grow my career.
I really enjoy working on strategic initiatives, which happens to be the bulk of my workload as a product marketer. When I craft new positioning for a feature, it becomes the backbone of how we talk about it on the website, in campaigns, sales conversations, and even interviews with new candidates. No two days are the same, which allows me to work closely with many different stakeholders across the company.
I’m quite proud of my first big win as a product marketer, which was creating a new, repeatable launch strategy. A few years back, the product marketing function at Apryse was still fresh, and all previous release efforts had been a loose combination of a blog, some patch notes, and customer conversations. Our team came up with a new quarterly launch story where we would bundle releases with a greater comms strategy, which I had the opportunity to strategize and design from the ground up.
The segmentation, messaging, and new releases page that I designed led to our highest engaged campaign at the time and became the template that we’ve iterated upon since then. Gaining project leadership experience early in my product marketing career was great for building my confidence in the role.
I was surprised by how resourceful we are. You may think some projects would be covered in red tape or for egos to collide, as you hear about with other larger organizations, but at Apryse, open communication is a staple for us, and there is always room for good ideas and collaboration.
I have some fond memories working at Apryse, but my favorite has to be getting center-court seats at a Denver Nuggets game with some coworkers. Nothing strengthens company culture like Jokic dropping 35 on the Warriors.
Keep asking questions, and don’t hesitate to reach out. We’ve cultivated a helpful company culture where we lift each other up — it’s never an imposition to ask.
