We are pleased to introduce version 6.9.3 of PDFTron's iOS SDK. This release adds improved and more powerful configuration APIs, a new SDK Showcase sample, and more.

Improved and more powerful configuration APIs

With this release, it is now possible to easily add, remove, and rearrange bar buttons in the PTDocumentViewController and PTTabbedDocumentViewController classes. In addition, any of the buttons shown in the top navigation bar can be moved to the ThumbnailSliderViewController shown at the bottom of the document viewer and vice versa. These changes allow complete control over the placement and appearance of all the SDK-provided buttons.

The PTNavigationListsViewController control has been made more drop-in friendly by providing the outline, annotation, and user bookmark lists by default. It is still possible to customize the ordering of the lists via the previous methods and convenience properties have also been added that greatly simplify disabling only certain lists.

Finally, the ToolManager class's configuration and annotation permission system has been simplified and streamlined. It is no longer necessary to set up builder objects with nested dictionaries and consult the documentation for the required dictionary string keys. The new system offers full code completion support by exposing properties directly on the ToolManager class.

SDK Showcase sample

In addition to the improved APIs described above, this release also includes a new Showcase sample. This sample demonstrates a number of key features of the PDFTron SDK.
