Java RESTful Engine Enhancements

Our Java RESTful Engine has received several significant updates which gives it full feature parity with the .NET version of our RESTful Engine

New API Endpoints:

The Java RESTful engine now also supports the original RESTful engine API with these endpoints: POST v1/metrics, POST v1/reports, GET v1/reports/{guid}, DELETE v1/reports/{guid}, POST v1/tagtree, and GET v1/version.

PostgreSQL Driver Now Included:

This feature now allows customers to generate their output from PostgreSQL databases without the need to install custom drivers.

Custom Post-Processing Capabilities:

Developers can implement an interface for custom post-processing of generated documents. The RESTful engine provides the generated document, and any changes made are returned seamlessly.

The custom post-processor can accept a byte array containing the raw bytes of the output document in the specified format, such as PDF, DOCX, RTF, XLSX, PPTX, and more. This is the standard use case. Additionally, for scenarios involving file-per-page output, the custom post-processor can handle a byte array of byte arrays, each containing the raw bytes of the output document in the specified format. This is particularly relevant for image outputs and HTML file-per-page formats.

These enhancements offer greater flexibility and control over document processing, enabling tailored solutions to meet specific requirements. We believe this will significantly enhance your development experience and look forward to seeing the innovative ways you utilize this feature.

Post processors written in C# for use with the .NET RESTful engine will need to be re-written in Java to use the Java RESTful engine.
