A Faster Way to Flag Text for Review

DOCX Editor now includes a highlight tool for flagging text without opening a full comment thread. The new tool gives reviewers a faster way to mark up: mark text directly from the toolbar, using the same interaction pattern already available in WebViewer, with a color palette matching Microsoft Word’s highlight colors.

Highlighting complements comments, which reached the DOCX Editor earlier this year.

Search and Replace Runs Faster on Long Documents

Search and replace already exists in DOCX Editor, through both the UI panel and a programmatic API. This release focuses on performance: replacing text across long documents runs noticeably faster.

Where This Fits in a Review Workflow

Together with the new highlight markup tool, these changes deliver a more complete content proofing environment for review-heavy workflows. Flag something quickly, find something quickly, and keep moving.

Consistent with How WebViewer Already Works

The highlight tool in DOCX Editor reuses the same annotation pattern WebViewer already uses for highlighting a PDF. Building DOCX Editor on that same pattern means markup looks and behaves the same wherever your team is reviewing: A PDF, a Word document, or with Spreadsheet Editor’s new comments, a spreadsheet.

More from DOCX Editor’s Fall Release

DOCX Editor’s updates ship alongside two more releases in the same Fall Web SDK cycle. WebViewer delivers faster and more reliable Content Edit performance, improved stamp management, and easier signing workflows. Spreadsheet Editor adds threaded comments through the same Notes Panel already used in WebViewer and DOCX Editor.
